What were you doing before you came to Spirit Studios?
I was a mastering engineer and worked in live sound. I also ran a promotions company called SA Promotions.
How did you get into Music Production?
I started out as a musician and performer but always got frustrated that recordings never sounded like the song I had originally written in my head. So, it was only natural that I decided to into production.
Any areas of special interest?
Mastering, mixing and recording are what I love to do most!
What’s your proudest career achievement?
Putting on a city-wide music festival with 150 acts over 15 venues called Hungry Pigeon Festival.
What do you get up to outside of teaching?
I play squash, travel and am also a trauma therapist.

Tell us something people may not know about you
I worked at Buckingham Palace when I was 18…
What’s your favourite album/artist?
Suede’s debut record. Bernard Butler’s guitar playing on that album made me pick up a guitar and learn how to play. Years later, I met him and told him he was basically responsible for my career in the music industry. He was very modest about it though.
What’s the best gig you’ve ever been to?
The Prodigy at Milton Keynes Bowl 2010 (65,000 people were there!)
What’s your musical guilty pleasure?
Superorganism – it’s daft but undeniably musically endearing.
