Songwriting and Performance.
By the end of this free taster course, you will have collaborated with others to create an original song and then developed it into a live performance.
Overview
This session is ideal for emerging musicians and songwriters, or anyone aged 14–18 who is interested in developing their songwriting techniques and performance skills.
Learning from songwriting and performance professionals, you’ll work collaboratively as part of an ensemble to create an original song in a rehearsal room environment. You will then take this song into the venue to develop it into a live performance using industry-standard PA systems and backline equipment.
The session will cover:
- Song structure and chord progression
- Creating a melody line and lyric writing
- Developing a song arrangement
- Performance and stagecraft
- Live performance techniques
