What were you doing before you came to Spirit Studios?
I was a touring FOH engineer.
How did you get into what you teach?
I started mixing bands (mostly terrible) at local DIY gigs that I was also playing at. Then began working in theatre and for a small production company.
I quickly realised that I loved mixing music and sharing in moments that were only going to happen once. Being a part of the exciting team that created those moments became my goal.
Any areas of special interest?
Making things louder!
My proudest career achievement was mixing a band on the Other Stage at Glastonbury to about 40,000 people.
What do you get up to outside of teaching?
Parenting, mixing gigs, hanging out in nature, yoga, and breathwork.
Tell us something people may not know about you?
I’m a grade 8 Classical Cellist!
Career credits or any notable people you may have worked with?
I have worked with 10cc, The Zutons, FKA Twigs and Everything Everything.
What’s your favourite album/artist? and why?
Pet Sounds, The Beach Boys. A Masterpiece!
What’s the best gig you’ve ever been to?
The War on Drugs, Corona Capital Festival (Mexico) 2018
What’s your musical guilty pleasure?
I feel no guilt in enjoying music, but I will admit to knowing all the words to most of the songs from Moana (& Moana 2)
