Utilising his broad reaching music industry experience, Dan teaches across multiple degree courses here at Spirit Studios.

What were you doing before you came to Spirit Studios?

Professional “Jack Of All Trades”. Working in Studio Production, Mixing, Live Audio Engineering, Audio and Post Production for Film and TV, Event and Venue Management, and performing in a band.

How did you get into Music Production?

I studied Music Production at the University of Lancashire and ended up trying a bit of everything while I was there.

Any special areas of interest?

Career Development.

What’s your proudest career achievement?

Performing at Kendal Calling three years in a row.

What do you get up to outside of teaching?

Running a small studio in Cheetham Hill, as well as recording and producing music for a variety of artists.

What’s your favourite album/artist?

Death From Above 1979, because riffs.

What’s your musical guilty pleasure?

Elton John.

I’m a Geordie! (My accent has faded though).
