Synth Suite.
With a focus on creating music and sound, our Synth Suite is fitted with a range of creative tools and equipment, making for a seriously versatile studio space.
Welcome to synth heaven. From a modern paraphonic Moog Subsequent 37, to legendary Roland synths and a modular Doepfer: our Synth Suite is packed with seven hardware synths for you to master and bring into your tracks. If that’s not enough, we’ve added plenty of audio patch points and MIDI tie lines so you can sign-out even more synths, as well as drum machines and effects units, from our on-site stores.
Significant efforts were put into the MIDI implementation in this facility, ensuring all synths can be reliably controlled via the 61-key MIDI keyboard in the listening position. MIDI sequencing is available via Ableton Live, Logic Pro and Pro Tools, as well as via the Elektron Digitakt drum machine. The latter can facilitate hardware-only sessions to create music, only using a DAW for recording purposes.
Other notable mentions include Ableton Push 2 and Native Instruments Maschine MK3 controllers. Our 25 year old Akai S5000 sampler has been modified with USB connectivity, allowing you to quickly drop samples into it via the Mac’s desktop. We’ve also installed a Technics 1210 turntable, a range of effects units and an oscilloscope. Blending old with new, this space encourages you to get creative with your work.
And with stereo and quadraphonic monitoring options from Genelec, this space typically provides our students with their first opportunity to mix beyond 2.0.
