S6 Suite.

Primarily for working with immersive audio, our S6 Suite is home to an Exigy 7.1.4 Dolby Atmos monitoring system and an Avid S6 control surface.

Dolby Atmos is an immersive spatial sound technology that lets creators place sounds, as objects, in a three-dimensional space.  Utilising four speakers on the ceiling, we can position and move sound around the listener from every angle to create captivating listening experiences.

Following Dolby’s specifications for designing a Dolby Atmos mix room, we’ve created the ideal mixing environment and teaching space for immersive music, post-production, gaming and podcast content.

Our 24-channel Avid S6 is the industry-standard control surface found in many post-production and music studios worldwide. We were proud to be the first educator in the UK to have an Avid S6 console.

A meticulous attention to detail can be seen in every element of this studio. Our centre channel speaker is positioned behind an acoustically transparent projector screen and the projector is completely isolated from the room, meaning no noise or heat it generates will affect mixing sessions.

Whilst it’s the perfect room at Spirit for working with immersive audio formats, it’s equally suited for stereo content too.  Exigy monitors can be found in some of the legendary studios around the world, including The Hit Factory New York, Red Bull Music Studios Los Angeles and Real World Studios (UK).  Exigy spent several days on-site tuning the monitoring system with the room to ensure any mixes are translated accurately, whether they are listened to on headphones or on the big screen.

Other advanced-level studios include Spirit Studio and Mastering Studio.
