Applying for the MA in Music Production.

Below we’ve summarised how to apply for MA Music Production.

Your MA application

Our MA in Music Production is validated by the University of Central Lancashire (UCLan), to apply for the course you will submit an application through UCLan’s online portal. First you need to register and create a profile, then you can complete the application.

Register with UCLan’s application portal

  1. Go to myportal.uclan.ac.uk
  2. To register, click the ‘Sign up now’ link
  3. Fill out all the requested information, and verify your email address

Once you have registered with the portal you will now be able to complete an application.

To apply for the MA Music Production

  1. Log into UCLan portal myportal.uclan.ac.uk
  2. Once logged into the portal, you will need to create a profile. Select ‘Complete my profile’ and fill out all the required information
  3. In this section you have the option to add ‘Supporting Information’ for your application. Here you can add information such as your qualifications and employment history. You can also upload supporting documents, here we’d recommend including evidence of your qualifications and references. 
  4. Once the profile section has been completed you can now start an application
  5. Select ‘Begin’ under ‘Start an application’
  6. Under Type of Study, select Postgraduate Taught
  7. Under Course, select MA Music Production. This will appear if you start to type in ‘music’
  8. Under Campus, select Spirit Studios
  9. Under Mode of Study, you can select whether you would like to study full time or part time
  10. Under start date, select your start date, save and continue
  11. In the following sections, the application should automatically populate fields with information from your profile, check this information is correct, then save and continue
  12. If you’ve already added your qualifications and employment history in the ‘Supporting Information’ section of your profile they should be automatically added to the application. Check they are correct and then save and continue
  13. Next add your ‘Personal Statement.’ This is one of the most important parts of the application. In your personal statement we’d recommend including: Examples of your experience in music and sound, or any relevant education you’ve undertkane within the subject area. Specific interests within this field and your goals. Examples of proficiencies and achievements relevant to the subject. Links to audio examples of your work.
  14. Once you’ve added your personal statement click save and continue
  15. In the ‘Document Upload’ section check through the documents you’ve uploaded, or add anything else you would like to, then save and continue
  16. Finally check you’re happy with your application, check the declaration and select  submit. Once you’ve submitted your application you should get a confirmation screen that your application has been submitted, and you’ll also receive a confirmation email.
