Degree Show 2024.

It’s nearly time for our Degree Show, celebrating sound and music from the class of 2024. Final year students from our BA (Hons) Electronic Music Production and Performance, and BA (Hons) Music Production course will be bringing together everything they’ve learnt to showcase their spectacular array of talent. Here’s what will be happening over the three events.

Friday 22 March

The opening night will be hosted throughout Spirit in the studios and Charlie Jones Live Venue. Featuring a full range of projects. Performances will showcase students’ unique productions and compositions across a mix of genres, from experimental folk and French house to dubstep and hardstyle EDM. A variety of projects will present works with engaging visuals portraying themes such as adulthood, fantasy and metropolitan life.

Tuesday 26 March

The second event will also be hosted at Spirit with an evening of listening parties and audio-visual presentations. Students’ innovative music and soundscapes will be accompanied with carefully curated videos and graphics exploring the sounds of mental disorders, behind the scenes of recording music, punk and hardcore subcultures, a post-apocalyptic future world and abandoned spaces.

Wednesday 27 March

The final night of the show will be hosted at SOUP, an iconic venue in the heart of the Northern Quarter. A variety of performances will round off the Degree Show featuring live rap and spoken word as well as a variety of DJ sets spanning house, ambient, dub and bass music. Please note the SOUP event is strictly 18+ due to the venues policy.

The Degree Show is always an amazing opportunity to get together and celebrate the students achievements. All the events are free to attend and tickets can be purchased here.
