We're a small community of expert tutors and talented music students in the heart of Manchester. We'll help you make some noise, follow your passion and get ready for the world stage. If you've got the spirit, your music career starts here.
We’re delighted to have our degrees validated by the University of Central Lancashire (UCLan). While all courses are delivered at Spirit Studios, our degree students benefit from a range of UCLan facilities and services, both online and at the Preston campus.
We are accredited by the British Accreditation Council (BAC). This recognition marks us as a provider of high quality education.
Our graduates have gone on to work with some of the biggest names in music. Career-focused modules and industry links mean you’ll graduate with a clear understanding of how to build your dream career. Whether you want to start a record label, perform live shows or create sound for film, we’ll make sure you achieve great things.
"I really enjoyed the EMP course. One of the tracks that I made while studying will be part of my upcoming EP, so I think that says a lot! The facilities can’t be beaten, and it was clear that everyone in our class had a really good working relationship with our tutor Damion. Genre or style was never a barrier during the course, and it was also great that there was only under ten people in the class."
"Being able to say I work for Wigwam is a massive achievement. I never thought I would be able to say that, let alone whilst still studying here. Since first year on my course, my confidence has definitely grown too. When I first started here, I didn’t even know what Pro Tools was. However, the tutors have made me realise I know what I’m talking about and I can do it."
“It’s great to be in a place where everyone comes in at different levels. For me, I was never made to feel any less because I couldn’t do certain things at the start.”
“I liked that class sizes had a small student count, so you really had the time with tutors to develop your learning. I was never a fan of sitting in a hall with 400 other students listening to a lecturer for three hours without being able to ask any questions.”
“When I was looking around for places to study I wanted to go to a place that had the most connection to the industry, because I knew it would give me the best chance to succeed. I found Spirit by chance, and after viewing the facilities I was instantly hooked. Seeing the history of the people and music it has been involved with over the years was outstanding and I wanted to be part of that.”
Our creative partnerships provide our students with work placements, field trips, guest lectures, educational discounts and job opportunities.
Our facilities are designed to meet the needs of tomorrow’s music industry, ensuring you feel confident in every studio or live venue you encounter.
You’ll have a range of exciting creative and collaborative opportunities when you study with us, including hands-on work experience at legendary music venues in Manchester and beyond.
Our career focused attitude means that from day one, everything we do is designed with your future in mind.
We prepare students for a bright future through our Spirit+ programme of extracurricular masterclasses and workshops from leading industry figures.
Our tutors have not only had years of experience in the creative industries, but share a commitment to helping you on your journey as well.
We’re a supportive community that takes pride in our small size. We’ll get to know you as an individual and tailor mentorship to your personal development throughout your course.
