Industry course students come together as part of our Collaboration Week.

24 May, 2022

Students from across all three of our industry courses came together to work on a joint project as part of our Collaboration Week.

First year degree students finding out more about Spirit Studios

They put their skills to the test and worked together to create the music, underscore and Foley for a TV scene. This cross-discipline approach required a full team effort and gave students a broader perspective on the creative process when designing a complete soundscape for visual media. Learning from each other, students from across all three courses – Creative Music ProductionSound for Visual Media, and Studio Production and Mastering – developed skills in areas of production they wouldn’t normally have access to.

We interviewed tutors and students to find out more about how the project went.

It gave me a glimpse of what the real world of work will be like

Matthew Mutton, Sound for Visual Media student

We try to instill a collaborative spirit in our students from the word go. To succeed in the music, audio and post-production industries, it’s critical to establish positive working relationships and links with professionals in other skill sets. By combining their skills, styles and knowledge, students were able to produce a complete industry-standard scene ready for the big screen.

Being around different people and in different situations inspires growth

Rich Harris. Creative Music Production student
