It’s often said that a great way to learn is by being thrown in at the deep end – and that’s exactly what happened to our Music Business & Creative Industries first year students when course leader, Jo Hilditch, asked them to plan and run an event.
Put simply, networking is incredibly important when it comes to any kind of business. So, inspired by Jo’s attendance at SXSW, they carefully planned a speed networking event for students across all courses.
“It is imperative to network, whichever course you study on. But to progress as an entrepreneur in music business, connecting with sound engineers, DJs and producers, can be so valuable.”
The event was a huge success and the students really excelled in organising their first event. Working on everything, from planning and promoting the event to managing people on the day. Their hard work really showed their potential to be successful in music business and event management.”
Thank you to Jo Hilditch and all the first year Music Business & Creative Industries students for organising a fantastic event – we look forward to seeing what comes next!
