Computer Suites.
Our computer suites really complement the learning that takes place in our studios, live venue and DJ booths and facilitate collaboration and group learning.
In our computer suites, each student has hands-on access to the software you’ll find in our other facilities. This is ideal when learning the key concepts of Digital Audio Workstations (DAWs), plug-ins and instruments, such as Ableton Live Suite, Logic Pro, Pro Tools, Native Instruments Komplete, Arturia V Collection, iZotope Music Production Suite and many more.
Between our six computer suites, some are primarily configured for audio and collaborative learning whilst others are more for individual learning or group discussion. The hardware on students workstations differ between rooms too: Mac Suite 1 has a focus on Native Instruments Komplete, incorporating Komplete Kontrol K25 MIDI Keyboards and Maschine MK3 controllers. Mac Suite 5 has Ableton Push 2 controllers on the student workstations, but also a DJ set up and an area with hardware drum machines, synths and samplers to get to grips with. PC Suite 1 has a meeting area for discussions and presentations. All workstations have AKG or Sennheiser headphones.
Studio quality audio monitoring is provided via the tutor workstation, along with HD quality projection. Some rooms also utilise Promethean interactive whiteboards.
High speed network storage, designed specifically for film and audio environments, is available via all workstations. Downloading audio and video files at the start of your lesson and saving your work at the end usually takes seconds. You can then retrieve your projects just as quickly in one of our bookable facilities and carry on where you left off.
In short, our computer suites are the perfect environment for learning how to work with the industry’s essential software.
